Merging
the tastes and talents of four diverse and seasoned musicians,
READING builds an eclectic mix of Rock and Pop on a super-solid
Indie foundation that holds it all together and keeps it
interesting. I'll spare you the tired comparisons to other
bands and the "it's like 'so-and-so' meets 'so-and-so'
analogies... it's better than that.
The music is smart. It lures you in with its synthesized
melodies and back-up vocals and it keeps you there with
well-developed hooks, complex rhythms, and lyrics for the
thinking man. It is poppy without being trite. Challenging
without being mathematical. Emotional without whining.
It's got everything you love about American Music- artful
urban sophistication blurring into Mid-Western blue collar
work ethic that feels just as comfortable on your iPod
as it does on your turntable.
Somebody smart said that READING is like the Louisville
music scene of 10 years ago. I say their music is more
than that. It's all Louisville has learned in her decade
off, and it's ready to take on the world again.
